How was Nesting With Style born?

I have always loved home. From the time I was a teenager my room was decorated in whatever my favorite color and theme was at the time. As I got older I loved to scour the local boutiques, flea markets and craft fairs for the gem I knew was waiting for me. I couldn’t wait to see what treasure I would uncover.

I married and we had our children. Four of them to be exact. My days of trekking through the boutiques were over. Searching for the buried treasure was impossible in the wake of lost sippy cups, missed naps and toddler tantrums.

I was frustrated that I had to wade through 30 or 40 booths at a craft fair to only find one or two items I liked. It’s not easy to find things that are unique and beautiful. How to find these treasures, without spending hours of time?

My solution was to begin handcrafting things myself. I had always enjoyed working with my hands. After all, I was a caterer before my kids came along. I loved the creative process and I loved the feeling of accomplishment which came from making something special. More and more often friends and acquaintances told me I should sell my handcrafts. Once I began researching the distribution options it became clear that they took a great deal of time and money. I wanted to sell my items, but I still had four children to raise and a household to run. I quickly learned I was not alone. Many of my friends were handcrafting items and looking for a way to sell them also. The fun for them was in producing their products, not going to craft fairs or stores trying to sell them. They had limited time to devote to their new ventures, and most of it was spent producing their handcrafts.

Nesting With Style was born.

Combining the search for incredible products while providing Artisans a place to offer their work became my mission. For me, finding unique and beautiful handcrafted goods to offer on the site quickly became a passion.

Nesting With Style offers a unique shopping venue for beautiful handmade items while providing a community which supports and empowers budding entrepreneurs looking for a creative outlet in their lives. It’s a dream come true.
